Physical Accessibility

My office studio is located on the 3rd floor of a building that does NOT have an elevator.  There are a few steps up to the entrance outside and then 2 steep flights of stairs to get to the 3rd floor.

I have a table with an electric lift. If you are going to receive bodywork on the table, I can lower it for ease of getting on and off.

There is a bathroom down a shared hallway.

If my office is not accessible to you due to any physical limitations, please reach out.  I might be able to offer a house call or support you in finding another practitioner.

Financial Accessibility

My work is not accessible to many.  If the work wasn’t so demanding on me physically and energetically, I would offer a greater reduced rate for those who need it.  What I can offer are the following options:

Sliding Scale

Some of my services are on a sliding scale for everyone.  I trust you to self-select the amount you can pay for those services.

Because massage/bodywork requires a lot from me, I am only able to offer limited slots for the sliding scale option.

If you need the sliding scale for bodywork, please email me your request.

Things to consider:  I prefer to prioritize the sliding scale option for BIPOC and others who are marginalized, those who are differently-abled, single parents, vegetable farmers and elders (especially those who do not have a retirement plan).  Other things to consider include -  if you rent vs own your home, if you don’t have access to generational wealth (an inheritance), and if you don’t have a partner or person with whom you cohabitate who shares the bills.

Bartering

I appreciate partial or full bartering for things I need.  If this is of interest to you, check out the ‘Bartering’ page.

Bodywork for the People!

Even with a sliding scale and bartering, the work I offer is not accessible for many.  My solution to this in the past has been to offer clinics that I’ve called 'Bodywork for the People!' where people can drop in and receive the specific work they need from each other while learning skills to support others.  Pay a donation if you can.  In teaching the techniques, I get to receive as well (which is always needed).

Rather than having pop-up clinics, I am shifting this offering to something that can be scheduled.  Find a friend or partner or many people and set up a time to learn, receive and give together.  This continues to be pay by donation if you can.

This can be scheduled via my online scheduler or directly via text or email.

Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Cultural, etc Accessibility

I am a trauma-informed practitioner who centers inclusivity, shame resilience and consent.

I empower my clients to ask for what they need and wish to receive while also understanding and accepting that that isn’t easy for many of us.  Although I cannot keep anyone safe (no one can), I believe I have a greater responsibility in the dynamic with my clients and will actively check in and attune to your needs.

I believe in creating enough spaciousness for the diversity of human experiences, perceptions, beliefs and creativity.

I have the ability to hold paradox’s within my own body and brain and can accept seemingly vastly different perspectives than my own without judgement.

Curiosity is one of my superpowers.

I don’t belief solution is always possible and what is often more important and generative is finding the common ground that connects us all, especially with those in active conflict.

Due to the privileges I hold as a white, middle class, cis-passing human, I believe it is my responsibility to be in continual exploration and dismantling around the ways I have been steeped in white supremacy culture and thus perpetuate it.

I haven’t ‘figured it all out’.

I am a complicated and complex human - just like you.

I am continually exploring, learning, stretching, healing and growing for both my own personal journey as well as to be able to expand my ability to hold space and facilitate supportive work for others.

I believe that one of the amazing things we can offer as a communal species is being a mirror for each other.

I consider feedback and reflections a sacred gift and receive them very openly even if they might be seemingly hard to hear.

If you feel comfortable sharing, I welcome any thoughts, reflections, concerns, requests, complaints and celebrations.

I’m here in this life to learn and grow.
